George Dale

A senior public policy advisor for a Jackson law firm, George Dale served the state of Mississippi for 32 years as insurance commissioner. As the youngest commissioner in Mississippi history and the longest serving in United States history, George’s leadership enabled the state to navigate the aftermath of eight hurricanes without a collapse or mass exodus of the Mississippi market by insurance carriers. During his tenure he guided the MID to full accreditation by the
National Association of Insurance Commissioners and helped secure a $50 million federal grant to help stabilize the MS Windstorm Underwriting Association. George is listed in the Mississippi State University Insurance Hall of Fame, has an honorary Doctorate of Law from Mississippi College, and is
