CJ Stewart left behind the “normal” route to life after his second year of college to pursue the calling placed on his life. In 2007, CJ graduated high school with honors in Madison, Mississippi and like most kids from his community, college was the next step to a happy life. Braxton Brady is the Chaplain and Director of the “Building Boys, Making Men” Program at Presbyterian Day School, an independent school serving over 630 boys in grades PK-6 in Memphis. He also serves as the Chaplain for the University of Memphis football team. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis and his Masters of Arts in Theology from Covenant Theological Seminary. Brady has served on the boards of various inner city ministries in Memphis. He is a graduate of the Emerging Leaders Program, a program that helps disciple and develop spiritual leaders in the city of Memphis. Lemzell Johnson has spent over 20 years touching the lives of families in inner cities. Embracing the slogan, “Nurture the poor to independence”, he daily pushed for others to improve and do better. He served as the senior youth director for the Neighborhood Christian center in Memphis, Tennessee, executive director for the Community of Hope in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and the executive site director for the Neighborhood Christian center of Alabama in Decatur. Then, in 2008, an undiagnosed brain tumor ruptured and left him in critical condition. Suddenly, his family was in need. As he struggled to overcome his greatest challenge, he realized that he still had value; he could use his life struggles as steps to change the world around him. A 7th generation Misissippian, Nick Walters was bitten by the “politics bug” when he became president of his high school Beta Club and then national Beta club president. While attending Mississippi College, Nick went to work as an intern for Congressman Trent Lott. He served on Lott’s 1988 Senate campaign staff and in 1991 he was on the core team that elected Kirk Fordice as the first GOP governor since Reconstruction. After running several campaigns and doing consulting work, he ran unsuccessfully for Secretary of State in 1999. In March of 2001, he was recommended by Senators Cochran and Lott to President George W. Bush to serve as State Director of USDA Rural Development in Mississippi. Nick served as State Director from March 2001 until August of 2006. Today he heads up his own financial consulting firm Stone-Adams Financial Partners headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi.
